Introduction
CFP Manager is a software as a service (SaaS) that allows organizations and independent speakers to keep track of all their speaking engagements at conferences, user groups (Meetups), hackathons, and similar.
Features:
- Discover popular upcoming events to track or add your own to track.
- Add speakers (presenters) to your organization, each with their own easy access details that can be distributed within your marketing campaigns.
- Add your portfolio of sessions to be tracked as call for papers (CFPs), easily accessed to submit at future events.
- Attach any combination of speakers and sessions to an event, tracking their acceptance and if the session was sponsored.
- Distribute net promoter score (NPS) surveys and track scores for each accepted session.
- Track session acceptance rates, people reached, and trip reports for each event.
Why is CFP Manager Important?
Imagine that you speak at numerous events per year, either professionally or as a hobbyist. Are you tracking these events in a spreadsheet? If you're tracking each event, your speakers, the session you submitted, the trip reports, NPS scores, etc., your spreadsheets are going to get out of control. Now imagine you're sharing those spreadsheets with your Developer Relations team or Field Marketing team and they are adding their own events to that sheet as well.
This is reality for many professional organizations, and it's painful.
Being able to manage your speaking engagements in a clean way with a team of people is a huge win and a benefit of CFP Manager.
Let's say your team plans to submit sessions to 50 conferences in the upcoming year. Let's say that 10 of those sessions are sponsored sessions and 20 of those sessions were accepted organically (unpaid). That means 20 of those sessions were rejected or never received a response from the event organizers. With CFP Manager we're already tracking all 50 of those conferences and their status. Next year we'll know where we had luck getting accepted and where we didn't have luck. We'll also know which call for paper submissions had the most success and likewise the speakers.
Instead of using yet another tool like SurveyMonkey or similar to ask for NPS feedback, this can be done directly within CFP Manager, making your process easier for everyone involved.
